The rules
The other 87 are out, each for a reason you can see.
33 bank rules, each sourced and dated, like Chase 5/24 ↗. Hover any card for its reason.
The math
Points × what a point is worth. If your spend only just covers a card’s minimum, your plan says so, and the call is yours.
Point values: Frequent Miler ↗, Oct 8, 2026. Annual fees are shown on every card, not subtracted.
The timing
At most one new card a quarter, in the order worth the most by 2031, without breaking a bank rule.
Each step is a card’s bonus landing. Each band is one program: the points you’d have × what a point is worth.
Everyday spending: $1,750 a month at 1–1.75 points per dollar. The plan shown is the best of 47,495 orders scored, keeping the top 96 at each step.
The proof
The plan worth the most by 2031 wins. When plans are worth the same, the biggest bonus goes first, so you get the money sooner. The exception is Chase: Chase says no once you’ve opened 5 cards in 2 years, so its cards go while you still have room.
Why Sapphire Preferred first, not…
Every start here ends with $7,038 in bonuses by 2031; the order decides how soon. Compared: the best plan starting with each of the 10 most valuable cards that fit.
Your plan
Sapphire Preferred: 75K points (about $1,125) after $5,000 in 3 months, $95 a year. Plus a backup, one to hold off on, and every step after it, with dates.
